We will be showcasing our new range of Plastic Packaging Tax-friendly food packaging as well as our 5 new off-the-shelf spirit bottles, alongside our premium range of food jars and soft drinks bottles.
PPT-Friendly Plastic Packaging
In April 2022, the UK Government brought in the Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT), where £200 tax per tonne applies to plastic packaging that does not contain at least 30% recycled plastic. We will be showcasing our new range of PPT-friendly solutions, including our 3 new rPET food pots (the 135ml heritage milk churn; the 230ml tulip bowl and the 255ml full tulip bowl), which all include 30% recycled material, making them PPT-exempt.
Originally available in widely recyclable PET, the 3 rPET pots are even more environmentally friendly by using more recycled material in the products. rPET can handle temperatures up to 55C and down to -20C, suitable for ambient, chiller and even frozen foods. Aegg is also working on additional rPET concept food pots and can produce bespoke rPET items for customers.
We will also showcase our light weighted PP products, taking up to 30% of the weight out of some of its PP pots, such as our tumbler, reducing both the cost and tax liability of the packaging without compromising the functionality. rPP is not currently widely available and carries a high premium, making Aegg’s light weighted PP products more cost-effective.
Glass Packaging
As well as supplying plastic food and drink packaging, we also supply glass jars and bottles, with our jars flying off supermarket shelves during the pandemic, whilst consumers cooked more at home.
Adding to our range of glass packaging, we have introduced 5 new glass spirit bottles aimed at artisanal spirit producers, core spirit brands and supermarket brands.

The five premium flint spirit bottles are exclusive to Aegg in the UK, feature a cork finish, and each hold 70cl. The custom-designed traditional look with a modern twist makes these bottles ideal for whisky, gin, vodka, and rum, although their versatile design appeals to most spirits categories. The off-the-shelf spirit bottles range can be further tailored for more bespoke designs, including embossing, debossing, frosting, screen printing and colour spraying. Our glass spirit bottle range is fully recyclable, reusable and environmentally friendly.
