Aegg powered by 100% Renewable Electricity
We are delighted to announce that Aegg Creative Packaging has taken a major step towards our sustainability goals by signing up for the TotalEnergies Pure Green tariff.
This means we're now powered by 100% renewable electricity generated from wind, solar, and hydro sources. We chose to focus on renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and hydro, which are more sustainable and environmentally friendly than using biomass (which can use trees from Canada to generate power in the UK).
Aegg announced our commitment to the Pure Green tariff on Earth Day 2025. The theme for 2025's Earth Day was OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, calling for everyone to unite around renewable energy to collectively triple clean electricity by 2030. We are delighted that we could contribute to this year's theme by switching to a renewable energy supplier.
Being supplied with Pure Green, we can proudly report zero emissions for electricity under the GHG Protocol Corporate Standards, Scope 2. This is possible because our electricity use is matched to Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) certificates.
Total Energies integrates climate change into its strategy and leads in low-carbon electricity. Their current gross low-carbon power capacity is nearly 9 gigawatts, including 5 gigawatts from renewables.
By 2050, Total Energies aims for up to 40% of their global sales to come from low-carbon sources. Additionally, they are targeting 25 gigawatts of renewable capacity by 2025, solidifying their position as an international renewable energy leader.
