Technical Engineer Manager - Glass
We are looking for a Technical Engineering Manager - Glass to join our team in Eye, Suffolk.
The role will be responsible for the Technical/ Engineering management of all Aegg glass manufacturing partners and customers.
Key Accountabilities:
Administration
- Work with the NPD / Project Manager to ensure that all glass related projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of glass project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Regularly review manufacturing partner quality process, locally translated, against the Aegg manufacturing partner handbook
- Manage the relationship with customer glass related contacts
- Manage the relationship with the manufacturing glass related quality teams
- Ensure that latest legislation is reviewed in relation to glass H&S and relevant quality standards in the countries that Aegg has both manufacturing and customers
Aegg Engineering/ Technical
- Ensure that all new potential manufacturing partners are audited against the Aegg manufacturing partner handbook
- Continuously review and update the Aegg manufacturing partner handbook and ensure that all manufacturing partners are maintaining these standards
- Be the Aegg glass expert for the Aegg business
- Be the Aegg glass expert for the Aegg customers
- Manage quality inspections at our Eye site on intake to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Attend all Continuous Improvement meetings with suppliers to ensure new processes are implemented and audit accordingly against standards agreed, in local language
- Involvement in all design / tooling signoff within manufacturing partners
- Ensure that you lead the technical development of the Aegg supply base, working with new factories (machines and quality control) to bring them up to agreed standards
You should be able to demonstrate the following experience:
- Proven technical working experience in packaging glass
- Glass manufacturing experience and experience of working within a glass factory are essential
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as this position requires extensive work in Turkey, you must be fluent in both Turkish and English language and culture
- Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Experience of working in a glass factory is essential
- Understand ISO / BRC standards in order to Audit supplier factories
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong planning skills
